Why are they worth trying??
They are worth it for a couple reasons actually.
If you have a punch card that gets punched every time you go into a place of business, doesn’t it make you excited or even just make you have the “want” to go back to said business??
Think about it, when you have a “save $5” off coupon you most likely will go back to the business that gave it and spend money to receive the discount.
So, this mindset goes for the beauty world also. When we give our clients a punch card to earn money off a future service they are more likely to keep returning because of this simple to utilize incentive.
A few ways to go about this is to use a business size card that has areas to punch or stamp. Have it be 5 or more available punches, 5 seems to be a great middle ground. If a card has 10 spots allow a halfway mark. You can get as creative as you want. Punch 5 receives $10 off, punch 10 receives $15 off. Make it make sense to you and your business.
You also can do a % off a total service if you do not want to off a set $ amount. Both options are great and get the job done!
You can buy basic punch cards on Amazon if you do not want to go through the hassle of creating your own.
I have attached a few ideas below:
Hand out cards as you see clients, do not mass hand out the same day. This prevents everyone being on the same discount schedule, but you will have a few fall onto the same discount the same days or weeks, another reason to be mindful how much you allow off the service.
Lastly, when utilizing this offer allow yourself an end date. This way you can keep offering this or end it when you are ready. I suggest 1 year, but you can start out 6 months just in case, then restart a new card if you like the progress it creates in your business.
